Replacing your Mighty Three is not something
you hope you will ever have to do. Why? It's expensive and time-consuming,
parts are almost no longer available, it's overall a great hassle.
Being from the north, I used to use Golden Spectro
primarily for my strokers. When I moved to Virginia, it struck me that there
were no Golden Spectro dealers or distributors. I went hunting for stroker
oil. After spending a hefty sum on small bottles of expensive oil down at
the dirt bike shop, none of which compared to the Golden Spectro, I found
that I could buy Amsoil synthetic for about the same price. Started using
the stuff in my GT-850 (oil injected) 93F, then the mixer blend in the '63
96. Both cars ran better, didn't smoke as much, and exhibited higher compression
readings at their next check-up. I suppose the other oils were just sticking
the rings. Compared to Golden Spectro, it's about the same, I think it's
a little cleaner, actually. Needless to say, pessimistic ol' me is pretty
impressed.
I am not an AMSOIL dealer, I object to their
program. However I have a friend who is one, and we can pass the savings
on to you if you're interested in clean-burning oils for your smoker. I
suppose I could get you a good price on other AMSOIL products but I haven't
investigated that yet as I'm a fairly-convinced Castrol GTX man when it
comes to my 4-stroke machines.
