Purchased new in 1974 from County Cycle Center in Eddystone, PA.
Original owner dropped the bike (lightly) in the mid 1970s and never used it again - it was carefully stored for 30+ years!

A friend of mine bought the bike about a year ago with under 300 miles on the clock and performed a full service including a new battery and new tubes in the original tires. He rode it about 500 miles on country roads around his Maryland home all last summer. Early this year, I traded him another rare bike and brought this home to Virginia.

From my ownership that began with 799 miles on the clock (so yes, I put another 350 on it, what fun!), I've changed the oil again, flushed the forks, replaced the mirrors and rear turnsignal stalks (pitting chrome), checked the valves and timing chain tension, installed some new-old-stock Champion N-9 plugs (correct heat range, today's 9 isn't) and fitted new Bridgestone S-11 Spitfire rubber front and rear. The original tires are included and amazingly not dry-rotted but do not have good ride quality.

The paint and trim are flawless other than minor chips and age related wear. S omeone touched up the tank and the touchup paint seems to have discolored.

As you can see, the battery cover is all original down to the paint and this dealer sticker.

The original owner's manual is in its case under the rear of the seat. I also have a copy of the original owner's title that will convey with its clear new title in my hands.

As you can see, the exhaust still shines beautifully, the seat is perfect, there are no dents in the tank, the wheels and chrome shine... on and on.

The sunlight and flash made the gauges look ever so slightly faded, they are not.

You will note that the engine number pad has the factory marks of having had the timing chain tensioner update - the dots above and below the dash.

And finally, the original Bridgestones. Put 'em back on for show, but the S-11 Spitfires are so much better, it handles like a new bike now.

If it's so great, why am I selling?

You know how it goes. I was asked to handle the consignment sale of another fine machine for a friend of mine and when it didn't sell on its first go-around due to someone else's 'Buyers Remorse', I made it simple for him and bought it myself. Oops. It's twice the machine this is, but it was also twice the price, so I guess I need to make room despite the fact that yearly oil changes and the occasional wipedown might mean that this bike could conceivably outlive me.

This CB360 is too much fun to ride to just let it sit around for the occasional show or cruise-in, so I guess that's another reason it should go to its next home. Too bad for me - GREAT for you - this is an instant shoe-in to the Vintage Motorcycle Club or AACA as well as many other smaller events and organizations. I took it out for gas about a month (and 8 or so miles ago) and a pack of riders pulled into the BP station to admire it almost immediately. If you feel uncomfortable drawing a crowd, this bike is not for you!

I collect vintage cars and bikes and am not a novice in this field. I try to have all my facts in place but any errors I may have made in my description (such as ownership history, et.c. - facts I cannot verify within a shadow of a doubt) may not be considered deal-breakers to the successful bidder at the close of auction. Unlike most eBay sellers, I have actually made the effort to put forth a great presentation to give you a more than accurate representation of the bike in this ad and I sincerely hope you appreciate this.

payment and shipping

Payment is due within seven (7) days of auction close. No exceptions unless verified with me in advance of your bid. Please do not bid if you have pending conditions you will spring on me after the fact. If you doubt what I've written above and want to play games with me, take it elsewhere. This is a very nice legitimate piece - the only kind of machine of any type I will own - and similar CB360s have sold for over $3,500 during the past year or so with this type of mileage and care. You'll notice my Buy price is less.

Shipping/pickup needs to occur within fourteen (14) days of auction close. Again, no exceptions unless verified with me in advance of your bid. If you want to pay in person, you'll need to follow the terms of the paragraph above. If you live locally, I'll bring it over to you. If you are a Virginia resident, I'll even include the rare 1974 (exp. Mar 75) license plate you can register the bike with!
